I went out to the ponds by the Ballpark in Arlington... but couldn't find any decent wildlife to shoot... so, I settled on using the new macro lens to get up close and personal with a dandelion.

Valentines 2012

Ok, yes... this is a photograph of the flowers I bought my wife for Valentines Day. Nice eh? Well, good - now that we have that out of the way, let's explain WHY I'm taking this picture ;-)

It has come to my attention that my daughter is going off on a trip to Oregon in March - and she is without a camera. What's a father to do? I mean, what kind of dad would I be to let my child - whom I love - go all the way into some of the most beautiful scenery this country has to offer - without a camera??? That would rank right up there as child abuse if you ask me.

So, I went out tonight and bought a camera (click here) that I will *loan* to her as she goes on her exciting adventures in the wilds of the Northwest. Not bad for a point and shoot - but let's not be less than forthcoming: This image has been post-processed through Photoshop Elements :-) Still not bad!

I hope she enjoys my new toy... oh, did I say that out loud? I meant to say *HER* new toy ;-)

Another Wood Duck taken at the Trinity Park Duck Pond... and just as in the previous photo, I did NOT enhance these colors... it's just a very colorful duck! Enjoy!

Took this picture at the Trinity Park Duck Pond in Fort Worth. Despite your first impressions, I did NOT enhance the color on this duck... I only adjusted brightness, contrast & sharpness. The color is *real*... very striking animal! Enjoy!

I think it's interesting that dandelion's are just a weed... but when you look very closely, they have alot of delicate details.... I like the curly stems... Enjoy!

Northern Pintail

Another lifer for me... this is a Northern Pintail ... as the name suggests, it's a northern duck which is down here for the winter... they breed as far north as Alaska! Enjoy!

Solitary Sandpiper

Made a run out to the Drying Beds this morning... they actually have quite a bit of water in them now...they've been pumping water in for about a week now. Got pretty close to this Solitary Sandpiper.... enjoy!
